Brad Pitt Reportedly Objects to Daughter Shiloh Testifying in Custody Case

Brad Pitt allegedly objected to his and Angelina Jolie’s daughter, Shiloh, testifying on her custody arrangement preferences, according to a report. The couple filed for divorce in 2016, with Jolie requesting full custody of their six children. During a 2021 hearing, Shiloh, who was 14 at the time, expressed her desire to testify. However, Pitt objected to this. Despite his objection, Pitt was awarded joint custody at the time.

The court later honored Jolie’s wishes to remove the judge from the case due to his undisclosed business relations with Pitt’s legal team. This decision further strained the relationship between Shiloh and Pitt. A source revealed that Shiloh’s closeness with her father and his family had changed in recent years. This fracture in their relationship may have been intensified by Shiloh’s legal decision to drop “Pitt” from her name on her 18th birthday, which reportedly devastated her famous father.

Although the name change request has not been granted yet, Shiloh is expected to adopt the name “Shiloh Jolie.” This move by Shiloh seems to have influenced her younger sister Vivienne, who recently dropped her father’s surname in a Playbill for a Broadway play. Pitt has been putting on a brave face since news of the name change request came out. However, insiders claim that this request has symbolized a deeper estrangement that has been brewing for years. Pitt is reportedly finding it extremely difficult to come to terms with the news.

The dynamics between Pitt and his children have been complicated. A third insider revealed that Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and the twins Knox and Vivienne don’t have much of a relationship with their father. Despite this, Pitt is not ready to give up on them. Last year, Zahara also dropped “Pitt” from her name during her sorority induction ceremony at Spelman College. In non-legal documents, their son Maddox prefers to use “Jolie” as his last name.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a total of six children together, including Shiloh, Pax, Vivienne, Knox, Zahara, and Maddox. Although they were declared legally single in 2019, their divorce proceedings are still ongoing. The complexities of their custody arrangements and the strained relationships between Pitt and his children demonstrate the challenges of co-parenting in high-profile divorces.
