Biden to Host Fundraiser in NYC Featuring Barack Obama and Bill Clinton

President Joe Biden is set to host a major fundraising event in New York City next month, and he’s bringing along two very special guests – former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. The event, scheduled for March 28th, is expected to be a significant affair, larger than the president’s usual campaign events with small groups of donors and supporters.

The news of this star-studded fundraiser was shared on social media by all three presidents. Obama took to Twitter to announce his support for Biden and invited his followers to chip in for a chance to join the event. Clinton playfully responded, saying he would be attending and asked who else would be there. Biden himself joined in on the joke, suggesting they could have just called him instead of making the announcement on social media.

While the venue for the fundraiser has yet to be confirmed, anticipation is building among Biden’s supporters. Clinton, in particular, has been hyping up the event on social media, counting on the enthusiasm of his followers to ensure a successful turnout.

Biden’s fundraising efforts have been in full swing since December, with the campaign receiving its largest amount of monthly donations just last month. The president and the Democratic National Committee have raised an impressive $97 million in the final three months of 2023, with a total of $117 million on hand to close out the year. This strong financial position gives Biden a significant advantage as he gears up for his reelection campaign.

However, it’s important to note that Biden is not without his critics. At least two pro-Palestinian groups are already planning protests around his visit to New York City due to his support of Israel in its conflict with Hamas. Anti-Israel demonstrators have previously interrupted Biden’s speeches at campaign events, aiming to draw attention to their cause.

In comparison to Biden’s fundraising success, former President Donald Trump, who is likely to be Biden’s Republican challenger in the next election, raised about $130 million over the same period. However, due to spending, Trump ended up with significantly less in reserves, with only $42 million to close out 2023.

As we await further details about the upcoming fundraiser, one thing is clear – the Biden campaign is gathering considerable momentum. With the support of influential figures like Obama and Clinton, as well as their impressive fundraising efforts, it seems that President Biden is well-positioned as he lays the groundwork for his reelection campaign.
