Becoming a Surrogate Allowed me to Afford my Dream House Worth $500,000 at 27

Teale Kelley, a 27-year-old single mother from Denver, was able to turn her dream of owning a house worth $500,000 into a reality through surrogacy. Kelley, who works as a registered nurse, had always felt a calling to help others, which is why she chose nursing as her career. Her experience working as an IVF nurse in a fertility clinic exposed her to the struggles of infertile couples on a daily basis. It was during her interaction with a patient who had suffered multiple miscarriages that Kelley realized she could make a difference as a surrogate.

Kelley’s journey began when she signed up with a surrogacy agency. After interviewing 10 different agencies, she chose one that allowed her to have a say in the family she would work with. The agency matched her with a couple who were unable to have children on their own. Kelley described her intended parents (IPs) as incredible, and they developed a close friendship throughout the surrogacy journey.

In December 2023, Kelley gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Just two months later, she was able to purchase her dream house with the $75,000 she earned from being a surrogate. This achievement was a significant milestone for Kelley, who had been saving for years as a single working mother. Renting apartments for years, she always knew she wanted to buy a house that she could call her own. However, with the financial challenges of being a single parent, saving enough money had proven to be difficult. Becoming a surrogate allowed Kelley to speed up the process and finally achieve her goal of homeownership.

Throughout her surrogacy journey, Kelley documented her experiences on TikTok, where she gained a following of people interested in her unique story. She shared updates on her pregnancy and the bond she formed with the intended parents. Kelley’s ability to share her journey on social media not only allowed her to connect with others going through similar experiences but also provided a platform to educate and raise awareness about surrogacy.

Kelley’s relationship with the intended parents didn’t end with the birth of their child. She has remained in touch with them, sending them her frozen breast milk since they live out of state. The bond they formed during the surrogacy journey has turned into a close friendship, with regular communication and updates on the baby’s progress. Kelley is even planning a visit to see them in the coming weeks.

Becoming a surrogate not only allowed Kelley to fulfill her desire to help others but also provided her with the means to achieve her personal goals. Through her selflessness and dedication, she was able to afford her dream house and create a lasting connection with the family she helped bring together. Kelley’s story serves as an inspiration to those considering surrogacy and highlights the profound impact it can have on the lives of all those involved.
