Astros’ Ryan Pressly Surprises Houston Boy, Blake Foley, with Front Yard Catch Game

Young Baseball Fan Gets Surprise Visit from Astros Pitcher

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Blake Foley is an 11-year-old boy who is passionate about baseball. He loves pitching and catching, and it’s a common sight to see him playing in his front yard with his mom, Hope.

A Surprise Encounter

One day, while Blake and his mom were playing catch, they received an unexpected visitor. Ryan Pressly, relief pitcher for the Houston Astros and a neighbor of Blake’s, stopped by and asked to join in on their game.

Blake couldn’t believe his luck. “No way is he wanting to play catch with me,” he exclaimed. “I’m like, ‘holy cow, this is crazy.'” Despite feeling nervous at first, Blake quickly warmed up to the idea and enjoyed playing catch with his favorite big leaguer.

A Memorable Experience

Pressly didn’t just stop at playing catch. He also let Blake try to hit a whiffle ball off him and vice versa. The whole experience left Blake in awe of the Astros pitcher’s generosity.

Hope, Blake’s mom, couldn’t be more grateful for Pressly’s kindness. “The whole city should know how amazing Ryan Pressly is and what he did to spend time with a huge Astros fan,” she shared.

A Dream Come True

After playing catch with an MLB player, Blake admits that it will be tough to go back to throwing with his mom. “My mom is great, but if I had the chance, I’d play with an MLB baseball player every time,” he said with a smile.
