Anti-Israel Protesters Block Access to Walt Disney World, Promptly Arrested

Blocking access to Walt Disney World on Saturday, a small group of anti-Israel protesters from a Florida chapter of Queers for Palestine used their vehicles to block the Disney exit of Interstate 4 in Orlando. The protesters alleged that the company supports genocide and held banners across the ramp while chanting “Free free Palestine.” However, their demonstration quickly led to their arrest within 11 minutes, according to reports.

The incident sparked various reactions, with some frustrated drivers using the shoulder of the highway to go around the demonstrators. One angry motorist even confronted the protesters, expressing his concern that their actions were causing people to hate them and urging them to think about their approach. In response, a protester yelled derogatory remarks and accused him of being a “genocide sympathizer.”

The organization behind the demonstration, Queers for Palestine, revealed on Instagram that three of those arrested were affiliated with their group. They claimed that Disney supports Israel without acknowledging the loss of Palestinian lives in what they referred to as an ongoing genocide. Furthermore, they criticized the company for introducing an Israeli superhero in the 2025 comic “Captain America: Brave New World.”

To support their claims, the protesters referenced a 1981 comic called “Sabra,” which they argued showed little remorse for the death of a Palestinian child. While the exact details of the arrests have not been disclosed, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has been contacted for further information.

This incident highlights the ongoing tension surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the various ways in which it manifests. It also raises questions about the effectiveness and appropriateness of certain forms of protest. While individuals have the right to express their opinions and concerns, it is important to consider the impact of their actions on public perception and potential backlash. Finding constructive and inclusive ways to address complex political issues is crucial for fostering understanding and progress.
