ANTA Revolutionizes Running with PG7 Midsole Technology and Global Relay Event

In the ever-evolving world of athletic footwear, the introduction of the PG7 midsole technology by ANTA in 2024 marks a significant milestone. With a Peak Gravity (PG) value of 7.8, this innovative cushioning system set a new standard for performance shoes. For those unfamiliar, PG is a measure used by industry experts to assess cushioning performance—the lower the PG value, the superior the cushioning quality. Demonstrating a relentless pursuit of perfection, ANTA has since pushed the boundaries even further, achieving an impressive PG value of 7.6, which redefines impact absorption and enhances overall comfort and stability for athletes.

To celebrate this technological leap, ANTA launched the “PG7 CUSHION EVOLUTION” global relay run, a unique initiative designed to showcase the capabilities of the new PG7 midsole technology across twelve vibrant cities, including Shanghai, Addis Ababa, Hanoi, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles. This event not only highlights the advancements in cushioning technology but also fosters a sense of community among runners worldwide.

The relay kicked off in Shanghai on April 12, where participants experienced firsthand the remarkable impact-absorbing capabilities of the PG7. Two eye-catching live demonstrations captured the audience’s attention: in one, raw eggs dropped from a height of three feet remained unscathed when cushioned by PG7 material, while those dropped onto standard EVA foam met a rather unfortunate fate. Another demonstration showcased the durability of PG7 as a smartphone screen wrapped in this material withstood repeated blows from a hefty 30-pound hammer. Such vivid illustrations not only dazzled the crowd but also underscored the practical applications of this cutting-edge technology.

As the relay progressed to iconic running cities like Chicago and Boston, the excitement continued to build. During the prestigious Boston Marathon, ANTA welcomed a diverse group of runners to experience both the PG7 cushioning and the ANTA Challenge Series professional racing shoes. The event in Brooklyn, NY, exemplified community spirit, as ANTA teamed up with the Midnight Runners club for an open community run, emphasizing the universal appeal of running as a shared passion that transcends cultural boundaries.

The upgraded Travel Step 2 running shoes, featuring the PG7 midsole technology, offer a host of improvements that cater to a wider range of runners. The shift from a PG value of 7.8 to 7.6 may appear minor, but it translates to a notable enhancement in cushioning performance. The advanced PG7 midsole effectively disperses impact, delivering exceptional energy return, which is crucial for optimal performance during long runs. Additionally, the shoes are designed with a “wide toe box,” accommodating a variety of foot shapes and ensuring a comfortable fit. The A-Grip rubber outsole has been re-engineered for improved traction, featuring a wider profile that enhances grip on diverse surfaces. Meanwhile, the asymmetric 3D-structured heel stabilizer offers ergonomic support, enhancing landing stability and reducing the risk of injury.

In the words of ANTA’s CEO, Samuel Tsui, “Our goal with PG7 is simple: Put the right shoe on every runner’s feet.” This philosophy resonates deeply, reflecting ANTA’s dedication to making high-performance technology accessible to everyday runners, encouraging them to explore their limits.

The PG7 not only connects runners to the ground they traverse but also embodies a broader ethos—one that champions innovation and inclusivity in the world of sports. With each stride, runners can now experience a seamless blend of comfort, stability, and advanced technology, propelling them toward new horizons. In a landscape where performance and comfort are paramount, ANTA’s PG7 midsole technology stands as a testament to the brand’s commitment to pushing the envelope, ensuring that every runner, regardless of their background, can embark on their journey with confidence.
