Anne Hathaway Channels ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ with Cerulean Gown at 2024 SAG Awards

Anne Hathaway channeled her iconic character from “The Devil Wears Prada” at the 2024 SAG Awards, paying homage to the film with her choice of attire. The actress arrived on the red carpet at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles wearing a stunning off-the-shoulder cerulean gown by Atelier Versace. The floor-length dress featured a small cut-out in the torso area and a large rectangular metal buckle, adding a touch of glamour to the ensemble.

Hathaway completed her look with silver heels and a matching clutch. She accessorized with a dazzling diamond necklace and earrings, both by Bulgari. The actress revealed to the Hollywood Reporter that her outfit was inspired by Meryl Streep’s character, Miranda Priestly, and her famous style lecture in the film.

In “The Devil Wears Prada,” Hathaway’s character, Andrea Sachs, had a memorable encounter with Priestly when she laughed at two similar-colored belts. This prompted Priestly to deliver an epic speech on the various shades of blue, including cerulean and turquoise. Hathaway’s gown was a nod to this scene and served as a tribute to the iconic film.

Speaking about her choice of attire, Hathaway explained that she needed something visually impactful but also comfortable since she had just stepped off a plane before arriving on the red carpet. She also mentioned that she specifically requested the cerulean color to pay homage to “The Devil Wears Prada.”

During the awards show, Hathaway joined her “Devil Wears Prada” co-stars, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt, on stage to announce the nominees for Best Male Actor in a Comedy Series. The award ultimately went to Jeremy Allen White for his performance in “The Bear.”

As for what’s next for Hathaway, fans can only wonder if she will embrace florals for spring, continuing to make fashion statements that capture the attention of the world.
