She admitted that she never anticipated losing her husband and was taken aback when calls started coming in after his passing, emphasizing the unfortunate reality that death is treated as a business. One aspect that added to Kloots’ challenges was the fact that she and Cordero had never discussed what to do in the event of their deaths. Like many people in their 40s, they believed they were invincible and had ample time to plan for such situations. Kloots shared that they had recently purchased their first home and were just beginning their lives together when tragedy struck.
The financial burden continued even after Cordero’s death, as Kloots received a substantial medical bill for his hospital stay nearly a year and a half later. This delay in receiving the bill further exacerbated the already overwhelming situation. It served as a reminder that even after the loss of a loved one, families are often left grappling with the financial aftermath for an extended period.
Cordero’s battle with COVID-19 was particularly difficult, resulting in the amputation of his right leg and a significant weight loss of 65 pounds. Kloots kept their dedicated fan base informed throughout his hospitalization, sharing updates on his condition and treatment. The couple had tied the knot in September 2017 and welcomed their son Elvis in June 2019.
In June 2020, Kloots revealed that Cordero had lost a substantial amount of weight during his fight against the virus. The following month, she shared the heartbreaking news that he might require a double lung transplant. Unfortunately, Cordero ultimately succumbed to the disease at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles at the age of 41.
