18-Year-Old Dies After Stabbing in Roslindale, Boston

BOSTON (WHDH) – An 18-year-old died Monday after a stabbing in Roslindale, according to Boston police officials.

Police Response and Victim’s Condition

Officers were called to the scene on Bradeen Street around 5:30 p.m. following a report of a person stabbed. Upon arrival, police found the male victim with a life-threatening stab wound in a pathway near the end of Bradeen Street. The victim was immediately transported to a hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Community Reaction and Concerns

As police continued their investigation, neighbors expressed their shock and concern over the incident. Patricia Dunn, a long-time resident of the neighborhood, described the situation as “horrible” while fellow neighbor Ann Rossi expressed her fear. Dunn mentioned that the pathways where the victim was found have been problematic in the past, with young teenagers often gathering in the area. Community members have previously discussed the possibility of closing the troubled pathway due to ongoing issues.

Dunn further expressed her sadness and frustration at the lack of respect for life among young people, stating, “I find it really disturbing that young people don’t have a sense of respect for life and that they so easily stab each other or take a gun if they get upset or whatever. I don’t have a solution to that problem. I wish I did.”

Police Investigation and Public Safety

As of Monday night, no arrests had been made in connection with the incident. However, Boston police officials in Roslindale assured the public that there was no immediate threat to their safety. The department’s homicide unit is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
