Male Teacher Allegedly Harassed with Feces and Terminated at Progressive NYC School

In a shocking turn of events, a male teacher at the prestigious Trinity School in New York City has filed a lawsuit claiming he was subjected to harassment and ultimately terminated from his position. Gerardo Perez, a learning specialist, alleges that he was targeted for being a man, and even experienced a disturbing incident involving feces that was seemingly intended to force him out.

The incident in question took place in October 2022 when Perez walked into his office and discovered a pile of dung. While the school dismissed it as an accident, Perez insists that the size and shape of the deposit suggested it was deliberately placed there. This troubling incident was just one of many that Perez claims to have experienced at Trinity School.

According to court papers, Perez’s troubles began in June 2021 when a female colleague, Chaztery Cruz, began harassing him. She accused him of shoddy work and demanded immediate responses to her requests. When Perez labeled her actions as “aggressive,” she retaliated by deeming his email a “microaggression” against her. It is alleged that Cruz attempted to leverage the school’s “woke” philosophy in her harassment campaign, even involving Perez’s boss in an effort to embarrass him.

Despite repeatedly complaining about the persistent harassment to no avail, Perez found himself terminated on February 24th. When he questioned the reason for his termination, administrators cited his ongoing conflicts with Cruz as the cause. This led Perez to file a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages from Trinity School, its head John Allman, and assistant head Alexis Mulvihill.

Perez’s attorney, Dylan Wiley, emphasizes that his client was well-regarded by both students and parents at Trinity School. He received glowing reviews throughout his tenure, which makes the alleged targeting for defending himself against a hostile work environment based on his sex all the more troubling. The lawsuit aims to prove this through extensive documentary evidence.

The Trinity School has declined to comment on the matter, leaving many wondering about the school’s response to these serious allegations. As the case unfolds, it raises important questions about workplace harassment and discrimination, even in supposedly progressive and elite educational institutions. The outcome of this lawsuit will undoubtedly have implications for the wider conversation surrounding gender-based harassment and the responsibilities of institutions in addressing such issues.

While Trinity School has been known for producing notable alumni such as John McEnroe, Oliver Stone, and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, this recent controversy threatens to tarnish its reputation. The allegations made by Gerardo Perez shed light on a disturbing culture of harassment that should not be tolerated in any educational setting. As society continues to strive for equality and inclusivity, incidents like these serve as a reminder that there is still work to be done.
