Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Ryan Seacrest set to return for the 22nd season of ‘American Idol’

Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Ryan Seacrest are back and ready to take viewers on a musical journey with the 22nd season of ‘American Idol.’ The popular reality competition series is set to return with a new theme of “Home,” where the show will visit the hometowns of past winners like Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. But amidst all the excitement, there is one phrase that every contestant hopes to hear: “You’re going to Hollywood!”

With their infectious energy and undeniable chemistry, Bryan, Perry, and Richie are returning for their seventh season as judges on ‘American Idol.’ Seacrest, on the other hand, has been the host since the beginning of the competition series. But it’s not just about having fun for these judges. They understand the significance of their roles in shaping the future of these aspiring musicians.

“We’re kind of investing in the future too,” said Bryan. “These kids come from backgrounds where nobody ever helped them in their music journey or in life. So we like to roll the dice on somebody to see how they grow. It’s just magic. They create magic, and you can’t take your eyes off of them.”

The judges are not only looking for talent but also for potential. They want to provide these contestants with an opportunity to go forward and flourish. Perry, with her special intuitive skill, can read the room anywhere she goes and understands the journey that they have the ability to take these aspiring artists on.

“We want the best for them,” said Perry. “We are going to put them through their paces because we want them to win. But I know that they don’t understand the journey that we have the ability to take them on. And so I’m sitting there, holding in our collective hands here, an opportunity for them to go forward.”

Seacrest echoes these sentiments and promises viewers an incredible season filled with great stories and great voices. He believes there is still so much talent to be discovered in this great nation.

“What can we mine from this great nation? Well, a lot. And they did it,” Seacrest shared.

Fans can mark their calendars for the return of ‘American Idol’ on Sunday, Feb. 18, on ABC. The show will also be available for streaming on Hulu the next day. So get ready for another season of incredible talent, emotional performances, and the journey of a lifetime. ‘American Idol’ is back and better than ever!
