Jennifer Lopez reveals that Ayo Edebiri offered a tearful apology for her podcast criticisms, expressing deep remorse.

Jennifer Lopez recently opened up about the tearful apology she received from Ayo Edebiri following their joint appearance on “Saturday Night Live.” In an interview with Variety, Lopez revealed that Edebiri came to her dressing room before the show and expressed deep remorse for her negative comments about Lopez’s career.

Lopez described Edebiri as “mortified” but also “very sweet” during their conversation. With tears in her eyes, Edebiri apologized profusely, acknowledging how terrible it was for her to have made those remarks. Lopez shared that Edebiri had the opportunity to hear her perform during the soundcheck and genuinely loved her performance. The actress and musician quoted Edebiri as saying, “I’m so f–king sorry, it was so awful of me.”

Although Edebiri’s comments were hurtful, Lopez admitted that she has heard similar things throughout her entire career and wasn’t particularly phased by them. In 2020, Edebiri appeared on the “Scam Goddess” podcast and referred to Lopez’s fame as “one long scam.” She claimed that Lopez wasn’t singing for most of her songs and questioned her talent.

During the “Saturday Night Live” episode in which Edebiri hosted and Lopez was the musical guest, Edebiri addressed her previous comments in a skit called “Why’d You Say It?” Participants were forced to explain questionable remarks they had made. Edebiri took responsibility for her comments, acknowledging that it was wrong to leave mean comments or post comments just for clout without considering their impact.

Despite the controversy, Lopez and Edebiri appeared to be on good terms before the show went live. In a promo clip, they stood next to each other and exchanged niceties, with Lopez expressing her excitement and admiration for Edebiri’s work.

This incident serves as a reminder of the impact that our words can have, especially in the age of social media. It is important to think before we speak or post online, as our words can cause harm and have long-lasting consequences. Both Lopez and Edebiri have shown maturity and a commitment to being more thoughtful in the future.
