LeBron James Supports Son Bronny in USC Basketball Debut After Cardiac Arrest

LeBron James was in attendance to show his support for his son, Bronny, as the teenager made his debut for the USC basketball team. This comes four months after Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest. The NBA legend was seated courtside with his 9-year-old daughter, Zhuri Nova, as the Trojans faced off against Long Beach State at the Galen Center in Los Angeles on Sunday.

LeBron’s Supportive Presence

Throughout the game, LeBron, 38, could be seen clapping and cheering from the sidelines as he witnessed his 19-year-old son’s first collegiate outing. Unfortunately, the game ended in an overtime loss for the home team. However, despite the outcome, Bronny expressed nothing but gratitude for being able to return to the court following his health scare over the summer.

Gratitude and Appreciation

Bronny, who scored four points with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals during the game, expressed his gratitude towards everyone who supported him during his recovery. He thanked the Mayo Clinic for their assistance, as well as his parents, siblings, coach, teammates, and other coaches who have been with him since the beginning.

Cardiac Arrest and Recovery

Bronny suffered cardiac arrest during a preseason team practice in July. He was briefly hospitalized in the intensive care unit but is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. The James family expressed their gratitude towards the medical and athletic staff at the University of Southern California for their incredible work and dedication.

The cause of Bronny’s sudden cardiac arrest was identified as an anatomically and functionally significant congenital heart defect. However, after being cleared by doctors in late November, he was able to return to basketball.
