State Police Seek Dashcam Video Following Fatal Shooting on I-95 – Boston News, Weather, Sports | WHDH 7News

Massachusetts State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a fatal shooting that took place on Saturday along Interstate 95. The victim, a North Attleboro man, was shot while driving along the southbound corridor of Route 95. Detectives are asking for any dashcam or video footage captured between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. in the area, specifically from Waltham to Rhode Island along Route 95 South, or from Boston/Weymouth through Milton and Canton to 95 South on the 93 corridor.

District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey, who is leading the investigation, has urged truck drivers, rideshare drivers, and anyone with a dashcam to contact the authorities if they have any relevant footage. The police are particularly interested in identifying distinctive features on the shooter’s car. They believe the suspect was driving a dark-colored, possibly black sedan that was heading southbound on Interstate 95 in Foxboro around 10 p.m.

The shooting occurred when the suspect fired multiple rounds into a black Mercedes, causing it to veer into a Lexus SUV before crashing into the woods off the highway. The driver of the Mercedes, Justin R. Parker, sadly did not survive and was pronounced dead at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Authorities are asking individuals not to review their footage themselves but rather to call the provided phone number so that police can arrange to view the footage. By doing so, they hope to identify the shooter responsible for Parker’s death.

One family involved in the incident considers themselves lucky to be alive after their vehicle was forced off the road and into the woods by the crash triggered by the shooting. Emelington Herrera, his wife, and their one-year-old son managed to escape the rollover crash without any injuries. Herrera described the terrifying experience of their car rolling over into the bushes.

The motive behind the shooting is currently under investigation, with the district attorney’s office considering the possibility of road rage as a potential cause.
