Oil Prices Rise as Crude Oil and Gasoline Futures Increase
The benchmark U.S. crude oil for March delivery experienced a 50 cent increase, reaching $72.78 per barrel on Monday. Similarly, Brent crude for April delivery rose by 66 cents, reaching $77.99 per barrel.
Gasoline and Heating Prices Also Experience an Uptick
Wholesale gasoline for March delivery saw a 6 cent increase, reaching $2.21 per gallon. Additionally, March heating prices rose by 6 cents, reaching $2.72 per gallon. However, March natural gas prices remained unchanged at $2.08 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Gold and Silver Prices Decline
Gold for April delivery experienced a decline of $10.80, reaching $2,042.90 per ounce. Similarly, silver for March delivery fell by 38 cents, reaching $22.42 per ounce. Additionally, March copper prices fell by 5 cents, reaching $3.77 per pound.
Foreign Exchange Rates
The dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen, rising to 148.71 yen from 148.33 Japanese yen. Conversely, the euro weakened, falling to $1.0743 from $1.0792.
