Southwest Houston Apartment Complex Left Without Power After Wall Collapse
Residents of a southwest Houston apartment complex are facing a power outage after a side wall collapsed on Sunday, causing significant damage. The incident occurred at the Woodlake Meadows Apartment Homes on Richmond Avenue, leaving scattered debris in its wake.
According to witnesses, the wall came crashing down early Sunday morning, resulting in a sudden loss of electricity. “I was getting ready, and I heard a super loud noise. Thought it was thunder, and then my energy just went out,” one resident shared.
Cleanup crews have been working diligently to clear the area and remove the debris, ensuring the safety of the residents. The cause of the wall collapse remains unknown, and it is uncertain how long the power outage will last.
ABC13 reached out to CenterPoint Energy for more information regarding the duration of the power outage but has not received a response yet. However, one resident mentioned that CenterPoint Energy stated that power restoration would only be possible once all the bricks were cleared, which could take several days.
The apartment complex’s management did not provide any comments or answers to questions from Eyewitness News.
