Oil Prices Decline, Gold Rises: Market Update
Oil Prices
The benchmark U.S. crude oil for March delivery experienced a decline of $2.03, settling at $73.82 per barrel on Thursday. Similarly, Brent crude for April delivery fell $1.85 to $78.70 per barrel.
Gasoline and Heating
Wholesale gasoline for March delivery also saw a decrease, falling by 4 cents to $2.19 per gallon. Additionally, March heating dropped by 8 cents to $2.71 per gallon.
Natural Gas
In the natural gas market, March prices fell by 5 cents to $2.05 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Precious Metals
On the other hand, gold prices experienced an increase, with April delivery rising by $3.70 to reach $2,071.10 per ounce. Similarly, silver for March delivery rose by 7 cents to $23.24 per ounce. However, March copper fell by 6 cents to $3.85 per pound.
Currency Exchange Rates
The dollar weakened against the Japanese yen, falling to 146.28 yen from 146.34 yen. Conversely, the euro strengthened against the dollar, rising to $1.0872 from $1.0839.
