Shooting at Houston Auto Body Shop Leaves One Dead and One Injured

HOUSTON, Texas – It has been over a month since the Houston Police Department responded to a shooting incident at an auto body shop in Humble. The incident resulted in the death of 33-year-old Jahmar Sampson and left 32-year-old Rafael Smith hospitalized.

The shooter, who worked at the auto body shop, is still at large, and the police have taken over the investigation. The mothers of the victims have expressed frustration with the progress of the case, claiming that the detectives have not prioritized it.

“They don’t work on weekends, or they’re off on holidays,” said Rhonda Bailey, Sampson’s mother. “What are we paying the police department for? They always talk about how crime is high, but your detectives are not contacting the parents, not keeping us posted.”

For these mothers, justice is of utmost importance. Bailey, who lost her only child in the incident, said, “I can’t walk up and hug and kiss my child, but the suspect is out there on the run. The police waited too long. That was my only child. That was the love of my life.”

As the investigation continues, the community awaits updates on the case. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Houston Police Department.
