Winter Storm Expected to Bring Up to 10 Inches of Snow to Parts of Massachusetts

A winter storm arrived in the region on Sunday, bringing with it the potential for up to 10 inches of snow in certain areas of Massachusetts before it moves out on Monday. The storm began as flurries and rain across the state on Sunday morning and transitioned into snow or continued as rain throughout the evening, depending on the location. This long-duration storm is accompanied by high winds and will have significant impacts on travel during Monday morning’s commute.

Snowfall Predictions

Parts of northern Central Massachusetts should prepare for up to 10 inches of snow. Much of Worcester County, western Massachusetts, and communities north and west of 495 can expect between 4 and 7 inches of snow. The rest of the state should anticipate receiving between 2 and 4 inches of snow. Coastal communities and Cape Cod can expect 1 to 2 inches of snow.
