Winter Storm Watch Issued for Massachusetts, Up to a Foot of Snow Expected

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for parts of Massachusetts as a system is set to arrive on Sunday night and last through Monday. This storm is expected to bring significant snowfall, with some areas potentially receiving up to a foot of snow.

Cloudy conditions are expected on Saturday, with temperatures reaching the mid-30s. On Sunday, flurries and rain will begin across the state in the morning, although the exact precipitation type will depend on the location. This will be a long-duration storm accompanied by high winds, resulting in significant travel impacts.

The Winter Storm Watch has been expanded to include much of central and Western Massachusetts. Northern Central Massachusetts can expect up to 12 inches of snow, while the Berkshires and much of Worcester County can anticipate between 6 and 9 inches. The rest of the state is forecasted to receive between 3 and 6 inches of snow, with communities on the South Shore and Cape expecting 1 to 3 inches.
