Winter Storm Watch Issued for Massachusetts, Up to 9 Inches of Snow Expected

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for parts of Massachusetts as a system is set to arrive on Sunday night and continue into Monday, bringing significant snowfall to certain areas. The storm is expected to bring up to 9 inches of snow to parts of the Bay State.

Cloudy conditions with temperatures in the mid-30s are expected on Saturday. On Sunday, flurries and rain will begin across the state in the morning, with the type of precipitation depending on the location. This will be a long-duration storm accompanied by high winds and significant travel impacts.

The Winter Storm Watch has been expanded to include much of central and Western Massachusetts. The Berkshires and most of Worcester County can expect to receive between 6 and 9 inches of snow. The rest of the state is forecasted to receive between 3 and 6 inches, while communities on the South Shore and Cape can expect 1 to 3 inches.
