Biden’s Campaign Challenges: Letters to Editor – Jan. 20, 2024

President Biden’s Chances for Reelection Amidst the Southern Border Crisis

Recent polling data suggests that President Biden may face challenges in his bid for reelection this year, particularly in light of the ongoing southern border crisis. According to a CBS/YouGov poll, all the remaining Republican candidates are currently leading President Biden in the general election (“Any GOPer over Biden in new poll,” Jan. 17).

The Democratic Party’s Representation

Interestingly, the poll also reveals that many voters would prefer Donald Trump not to run again, and neither Ron DeSantis nor Nikki Haley have managed to capture the imagination of the electorate. This highlights the current perception of President Biden and his party, which is associated with forced diversity, an end to meritocracy, identity politics, open borders, a narrative that criminals are victims, and the indoctrination of students with leftist ideologies from grade school through college. These aspects of the Democratic Party’s platform are becoming increasingly clear to the public.

Immigration as a Key Issue

Immigration is one of the top concerns among primary voters. However, Democrats often criticize those who try to address the issue. Currently, the federal government is pressuring Texas to remove physical barriers at the border. Additionally, Chuck Schumer attempted to negotiate a deal in the Senate that would grant amnesty to migrants who entered the country during the Biden administration.

Approximately 5,000 migrants are crossing the border each day, potentially taking jobs, straining social and healthcare systems, and further depressing wages for working-class US citizens. It is evident that Democrats are out of touch with the needs and concerns of the American electorate.

President Biden’s Immigration Policy

As President Biden’s approval ratings decline, he has expressed a willingness to make significant changes to his immigration policy (“Joe bordering on change,” Jan. 18). However, this seems to indicate that the Democrats are content with granting amnesty to millions of potential future voters. It is suspected that this has been Biden’s immigration policy since his first day in office.

The Democrats’ Sudden Concern for the Border

With the November elections approaching, Democrats have suddenly started showing concern for the border, fentanyl, and crime. This pattern repeats every four years, with the mainstream media highlighting temporary border closures, drug busts, and manipulated crime statistics from the corrupt FBI. Democrats hold press conferences to boast about their actions, while conservatives and Republicans remain inactive. Ultimately, the Democrats emerge victorious. All the signs are there if one looks closely enough.

Charges Against Daniel Penny for Manslaughter Rejected by New York Judge

A recent ruling by a New York judge has raised concerns about the fate of Good Samaritans in the city’s subway system (“Chokehold Marine trial ‘dismiss’ nixed,” Jan. 18). The case involves former Marine Daniel Penny, who intervened to prevent an attack on fellow train riders by Jordan Neely, an individual with a history of mental illness.

Penny now faces charges of criminally negligent homicide and manslaughter for using a chokehold to restrain Neely until the police arrived. Despite potentially saving lives that day, Penny could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.

Many find it outrageous that Penny’s motion to dismiss the charges was rejected. It raises questions about how Judge Maxwell Wiley would rule if one of his own loved ones had been present on the same train car as Penny and Neely.
