On retirement age, DeSantis opposed raising it due to declining life expectancy, while Haley suggested an increase for individuals in their 20s.

DeSantis defended his opposition to Disney’s stance on discussing sexual orientation and human sexuality in schools, stating that government should protect children. He also attacked Haley for supporting subsidies to Boeing and subsequently joining their board. Haley defended South Carolina’s business-friendly approach and accused DeSantis of targeting those who offend him.

Personal Attacks and Campaign Missteps

The candidates engaged in personal attacks and criticized each other’s campaign missteps. DeSantis highlighted Haley’s remark about New Hampshire correcting Iowa’s results, while Haley accused DeSantis of mismanaging his campaign finances. During his Fox News town hall, Trump teased that he has already chosen a running mate for a potential rematch against President Biden. Trump narrowly lost to Biden in the 2020 election.
