17-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed in Houston’s Galleria Area

An investigation is currently underway after a 17-year-old girl was stabbed and killed in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas. The incident occurred on Saturday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.

Details of the Incident

The Houston Police Department received a report from a citizen at 11:14 a.m. about a fight between two women near 5100 West Alabama and Sage. The altercation was possibly related to a bag. The 17-year-old victim was walking on the sidewalk, close to her home and job, when she was fatally stabbed. It remains unclear whether she was heading to or from her place of employment.

First responders discovered the young woman lying on the sidewalk with multiple stab wounds to her upper body. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

No weapon has been recovered by the police so far. However, a suspect was seen fleeing the scene on a blue bicycle, which was found nearby at the time of the incident. Investigators are currently trying to determine the origin of the bicycle and are reviewing surveillance footage from the area.

Motive and Suspect Description

The authorities are actively searching for a motive behind the stabbing and have not yet established whether the suspect knew the teenage victim. While the incident was initially reported as a possible robbery, this has not been confirmed by the police.

The suspect is described as a woman in her mid to late 20s, wearing a brown jacket and brown leggings at the time of the stabbing.

Public Safety Measures

Although there is no immediate threat to the public, the Houston Police Department will be increasing patrols in the area, as is customary during the holiday season. They advise residents and visitors to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings, especially during this busy time.
