Jonathan Majors Denies Injuring Ex-Girlfriend, Expresses Shock and Fear Over Guilty Verdict

Jonathan Majors Breaks Silence in First Televised Interview Since Guilty Verdict

Marvel Star Speaks Out on Good Morning America

Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in Marvel films, sat down with Linsey Davis of Good Morning America for his first-ever televised interview since being found guilty on two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment. The interview aired this morning, marking Majors’ first public statement since the verdict.

Background of the Case

Majors was arrested in March 2023 following a domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Jabbari claimed that Majors had become physically violent with her during an argument in a private car. Initially facing four charges, including assault and harassment, Majors was ultimately found guilty on two misdemeanor counts.

Majors Denies Causing Injuries

During the interview, Majors denied causing any of Jabbari’s injuries, which included a fractured middle finger and a cut behind her ear. He stated, “That did not happen,” when asked about the allegations. When pressed further about how the injuries may have occurred, Majors expressed uncertainty and a desire for clarity.

Shock and Fear Over Guilty Verdict

Majors revealed that he felt “shocked and afraid” upon learning of the guilty verdict. He questioned how it was possible based on the evidence presented during the trial. Majors maintained his innocence throughout the interview, stating that he had “no question” that he was not responsible for Jabbari’s injuries.

Inadmissible Evidence and Video Footage

The trial included evidence such as photos of Majors’ own injuries, which were deemed inadmissible in court. Majors also addressed video footage that showed Jabbari chasing after him in the streets of New York. He argued that if the roles were reversed, a Black man chasing a white girl, the outcome would have been different.

Response from Manhattan District Attorney and Jabbari’s Attorney

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg stated that the evidence presented during the trial illustrated a cycle of psychological and emotional abuse. Jabbari’s attorney criticized Majors’ lack of accountability and remorse, stating that his recent statements demonstrated a clear lack of remorse for his actions.

Sentencing and Potential Prison Time

Majors’ sentencing is scheduled for February 6. He could face up to 12 months in prison, although legal analysts believe it is unlikely that he will serve time behind bars.
