23-Year-Old Woman Accused of Shooting Father Now Charged with Murder
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A shocking incident unfolded on Wednesday evening when 23-year-old Jaysie Parker-Jones allegedly shot her father, 48-year-old Ronald Parker, multiple times at an apartment on Ella Boulevard. This tragic event took place in front of the victim’s 12-year-old son, who happens to be Jaysie’s younger brother.
Connection to a Previous Murder
In a startling turn of events, authorities discovered that the gun used in the shooting of Ronald Parker was connected to a murder that occurred in November. The victim of that murder was 43-year-old Kenneth Johnson, whose lifeless body was found in a warehouse parking lot on Airtex Drive on the morning of Nov. 10.
Charges Filed for Murder
As a result of this revelation, Jaysie Parker-Jones has now been charged with the murder of Kenneth Johnson. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest on Friday. The motive behind the murder remains unknown, and members of Johnson’s family expressed their confusion and lack of familiarity with Parker-Jones.
Remembering Kenneth Johnson
Kenneth Johnson’s brothers described him as a kind-hearted and adventurous individual who had a passion for photography and loved his dogs. The loss of their brother has left them devastated and searching for answers.
Legal Proceedings
Jaysie Parker-Jones is currently in custody at the Harris County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Jan. 8.
