GEORGETOWN, MASS. –

Three individuals are facing charges following a police pursuit that ended in a crash near the Rowley/Georgetown line on Tuesday afternoon. The incident began around 2:30 p.m. when a state trooper on I-95 North in Boxford attempted to stop a Dodge Charger that appeared to be racing other vehicles.

After approximately three minutes, the trooper lost sight of the speeding car. However, reports of a crash on the I-95 ramp to Route 133 in Georgetown soon emerged. State police arrived at the scene to find the damaged Charger abandoned in a nearby wooded area.

A search was initiated, and at around 3:20 p.m., Georgetown authorities received a call from a resident reporting suspicious individuals in the woods behind their home. Law enforcement quickly converged on the scene and detained three people.

During the ongoing police response, SKY7-HD captured aerial footage of the crashed vehicle wedged in the trees, with law enforcement personnel still present in the area. Close to the crash site, a family alerted the police after discovering the suspects near their home.

Colleen Cooper, speaking with 7NEWS, mentioned that she had read about the police pursuit on social media. Her daughter, Camden, recalled being in bed when her mother noticed people running through the woods. Camden initially brushed it off but soon realized the seriousness of the situation when her mother spotted the suspects and immediately called the police. The suspects were subsequently arrested on the Coopers’ driveway, with home security video capturing the moment.

The car involved in the incident was towed away from the scene by 6 p.m. The area was cleared, and the police investigation remained ongoing. State police confirmed that the Dodge Charger was the only vehicle involved in the crash, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The driver was identified as Gregory Marmolejo, 21, from Lynn. He will face charges including street racing, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in Haverhill District Court. The two passengers, Abel Severino Reyes, 20, and David Garcia, 21, will also appear in Haverhill District Court to face charges of disorderly conduct and trespassing.

In conclusion, three individuals are facing charges after a police pursuit ended in a crash near the Rowley/Georgetown line. The driver and passengers will be arraigned in Haverhill District Court for their respective charges. The investigation is ongoing, and fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
