Apply for Mail Ballot for 2024 Elections in Harris County

Harris County Residents Can Now Apply to Vote by Mail for 2024 Elections

Residents in Harris County, Texas, can now begin submitting their applications to vote by mail for the upcoming 2024 elections. The Harris County Clerk’s Office is reminding registered voters who are 65 or older or disabled that they have the right to receive a mail ballot for elections happening in their political jurisdictions. To receive a mail ballot, eligible voters must complete the entire application and select the appropriate options, including marking the primary and runoff election in which they want to participate.

Application Process and Deadlines

The application to vote by mail (ABBM) is available on the Harris Votes website. Qualified registered voters can download and fill out the application, selecting the “annual” option if they wish to vote by mail in specific elections. It is important to note that mail ballots are not automatically sent to eligible voters; they must request them. The ABBM expires on December 31, or when the voter cancels the application, voter registration is canceled, or when the voter registers in a new county.
