The New Year’s Eve celebration is organized by Boston Celebrations, Inc, and managed by Conventures, Inc, with the City as a partner. All parties involved are prioritizing public safety during the event.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu expressed her excitement for the upcoming First Night celebration, stating that it is a beloved tradition for both local residents and visitors from around the world. She emphasized that the newly renovated City Hall Plaza is the ideal venue to welcome families and ring in the New Year. Mayor Wu encouraged all residents to celebrate safely as they welcome 2024.

This year, First Night will introduce new programming inside Boston City Hall, comedy shows at the ImprovAsylum, and six hours of free carousel rides on the Greenway. The Boston Police Department will be present at the event to ensure a family-friendly environment. Attendees are reminded not to consume alcohol or marijuana in public spaces or prohibited private areas, refrain from flying drones, dress appropriately for the weather, and report any suspicious activity.
