Man Arrested for Stabbing in Worcester, Facing Armed Assault to Murder Charge

A man has been arrested and is facing an armed assault to murder charge in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred in Worcester late Friday night. The stabbing left a 43-year-old man hospitalized with serious injuries, according to officials.

The incident was reported around 9:45 p.m. in the area of 765 Main St. Worcester police responded to the scene and discovered the victim suffering from stab wounds. He was immediately transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Following the incident, the police conducted a thorough investigation and identified a man and a woman who were believed to be involved. The department distributed their pictures to aid in their apprehension.

During a routine patrol in the area of Austin and Irving street, an officer noticed two individuals who matched the description provided. The officer took the male suspect into custody. A pat frisk of the suspect allegedly revealed a knife with dried blood on it, as well as other evidence linking him to the stabbing.

The suspect has been identified as 35-year-old Jose Rivera, residing on Main Street. He has been arrested and charged with armed assault to murder.
