Police probe apparent case of domestic violence that claims lives of family of 3 in Dover

Police Investigating Tragic Deaths of Three Family Members in Dover Home

In a devastating incident, three individuals were found dead in a residence in Dover. The Dover Police received a call at 7:24 pm on Thursday from a concerned family member who had visited the victims’ home on Wilson’s Way. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the lifeless bodies of an adult male, an adult female, and their teenage daughter. To assist with the investigation, the Massachusetts State Police’s Detective unit was contacted.

The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Kamal, 57, Teena Kamal, 54, and their daughter Ariana Kamal, 18. Ariana was a student at Middlebury College and a graduate of Milton Academy. The couple had no other children but had relatives both in the country and abroad who were informed before the details were made public.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey expressed his condolences to the Kamal family during a press conference on Friday. He described the incident as a “deadly incident of domestic violence” and assured the community that there is no ongoing danger in Dover. A firearm was discovered near Rakesh’s body, and there were no signs of forced entry or reports of gunfire from neighbors.

Morrissey emphasized that there had been no previous police reports or domestic issues at the Kamal residence or in the surrounding neighborhood. The motive behind this tragic event remains under investigation.

Law enforcement authorities, including Dover Police and Massachusetts State Police officers from the Norfolk District Attorney’s office, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and other specialized units, worked tirelessly throughout the night to process the scene.

Morrissey acknowledged that Dover is generally considered a safe community and incidents of this nature are rare. However, he stressed that no community is immune to such violence.
