SACO, Maine – The Maine State Police have called off an Amber Alert that was issued on Thursday at the request of the Saco Police Department. The missing mother and child have been located and are confirmed to be safe.

According to reports, the two individuals, who were residing in the Biddeford area, were forcibly taken by a male suspect and forced into a white Ford Explorer with New York registration. The vehicle was later spotted crossing the tolls into New York State at 3:41 p.m.

Law enforcement officials have not disclosed the specific location where the mother and child were found, but they have assured the public that they are no longer in danger.
