Oasis Announces Long-Awaited Reunion and UK Tour in 2025

Oasis, the iconic British rock band, has made a stunning announcement after a 15-year hiatus. Brothers and band members Liam and Noel Gallagher took to social media on August 27 to reveal their plans for a massive UK tour in 2025. The news comes as a surprise to many fans who believed that a reunion was impossible due to the brothers’ notoriously acrimonious relationship.

Speculation about Oasis and the Gallagher brothers reuniting began to circulate over the weekend when both Liam and Noel shared cryptic posts on social media. The posts included a video with the date August 27 and 8 a.m. written in Oasis’ signature font. Liam, known for expressing his brotherly woes on social media, further fueled the rumors by stating, “I never did like that word FORMER.”

Liam even dedicated a performance of Oasis’ track “Half the World Away” to Noel during a set at the Reading Festival in England. The performance was accompanied by an 11-second video, which Liam later shared online. He also dedicated the song “Cigarettes & Alcohol” to Oasis’ haters.

The reunion teaser from Liam and Noel came just one day after The Sunday Times published an article reporting that the brothers would be performing a series of concerts in the summer of 2025, including a 10-day stretch at London’s Wembley Stadium and headlining next year’s Glastonbury Festival. Liam responded to the article on social media, playfully writing, “See you down the front ya big fanny kiss kiss x.”

The timing of the reunion announcement is significant as Oasis will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut album, “Definitely Maybe,” on August 29. Formed in 1991 in Manchester, Oasis has always revolved around the dynamic of Liam and Noel, with other band members coming and going over the years. However, the brothers’ tumultuous relationship has been a constant source of tension.

After years of public feuds and trash-talking in the press, Oasis officially disbanded in 2009 when Noel announced his departure from the band. In his statement, Noel expressed both sadness and relief, stating, “I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

Despite Liam publicly making derogatory remarks about his brother over the past 15 years, he has always believed that Noel wanted to come back to the band. In a 2018 interview with Q Magazine, Liam revealed that Noel was “desperate” to reunite Oasis but felt that he had burned too many bridges. Liam also blamed Noel’s ex-wife, Sara, for preventing him from rejoining the group. However, Noel and Sara announced their separation in January, potentially opening the door for a reunion.

With the announcement of their reunion tour, Oasis fans are eagerly anticipating the band’s return to the stage. Liam’s belief that Noel still longs to play stadiums and the upcoming anniversary of “Definitely Maybe” only add to the excitement surrounding this long-awaited reunion. The Gallagher brothers have finally put their differences aside, and music lovers everywhere are eagerly awaiting their triumphant return.
