Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, made several announcements, including a new “Frozen” land in Disneyland Paris and the addition of both an “Avatar” experience and a “Coco” ride at Disney California Adventure Park.

The “Avatar” experience will transport guests to the fictional world of Pandora, offering them the chance to explore its unique and breathtaking landscapes. Ali Rubinstein, Vice President of Creative Development at Walt Disney Imagineering, described the experience as “dynamic, intense, and emotional,” emphasizing that it will pay tribute to the late producer of “Avatar,” Jon Landau. Rubinstein revealed that the attraction will feature dense forests and vast open seas, promising a truly immersive adventure.

Another highly anticipated addition is the “Coco” ride, set to break ground in 2026 at Disney California Adventure. D’Amaro explained that the inspiration for this ride drew from beloved classics such as Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, ensuring a memorable and captivating experience for guests.

Disneyland Paris will also have its own exciting expansion with the opening of a new “Frozen” Land in 2026. This addition will undoubtedly delight fans of the popular animated film franchise, offering a magical and immersive world inspired by the beloved characters and settings.

The announcements didn’t end there. Tokyo Disneyland will debut “Reach for the Stars” next month, marking the beginning of a new era of Disney spectaculars around the world. In January, Disneyland Paris will introduce a new nighttime show featuring projections on the castle. Additionally, Disneyland will showcase “Walt Disney: A Magical Life,” a new show at the Main Street Opera House, which will include an audio animatronic of Walt Disney himself. This show will rotate with the popular “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.”

Executives also unveiled plans for other upcoming attractions and upgrades across various Disney parks. Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando will welcome a new “Indiana Jones” ride as part of the Tropical Americas area, set to open in 2027. Another attraction in this area will be themed around the Disney film “Encanto.” Disneyland will open “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” on November 15, followed by a “Zootopia” show at Animal Kingdom called “Zootopia Better Zoogether” in winter 2025.

Disney Hollywood Studios will feature a new “Monsters Inc.” land, while Epcot will introduce a Spaceship Earth lounge and the Magic Kingdom will unveil a pirate-themed restaurant, all scheduled to open in 2025. The Test Track refurbishment at Epcot is also expected to reopen in the same year.

Disney’s commitment to innovation and storytelling was highlighted by D’Amaro, who expressed excitement about the future of Disney Experiences. Scott Trowbridge of Walt Disney Imagineering shared plans to expand the Avengers Campus, adding two new attractions. The Stark Flight Lab will bring visitors into Iron Man’s workshop, featuring the voice of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. In Avengers Infinity Defense, guests will join the heroes in their battle against Thanos.

Furthermore, a new land dedicated to Disney villains is planned for the Magic Kingdom in Orlando. Although details are scarce, D’Amaro assured fans that the land will feature all the iconic Disney villains they know and love to hate.

In an interview with “Good Morning America,” D’Amaro expressed gratitude to Disney’s guests for choosing the parks as a place to create special memories with their families. He promised that the new attractions, along with the digital universe Disney is building, will leave visitors amazed.

The future of Disney Parks and Experiences looks incredibly promising, with a plethora of new lands, rides, and digital experiences set to captivate guests around the world.
