Glen Powell: Sydney Sweeney “Coached” to Provoke Huntsman Spider Bite

Sydney Sweeney’s recent revelation about being bitten by a Huntsman spider while filming her new romantic comedy, “Anyone But You,” has caused quite a stir. Her co-star, Glen Powell, claims that she was encouraged to “jostle” the spider before the incident occurred. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Powell recalled the scene and expressed confusion about why they were instructed to agitate the spider.

According to Powell, the Huntsman spider appeared motionless when Sweeney brought it out on her hand. The crew suggested shaking it to make it move because it looked fake. Powell questioned the decision to agitate a real spider and expressed his concern. Unfortunately, Sweeney followed their instructions and ended up being bitten by the spider.

Powell mentioned that Sweeney still has marks on her wrist from the incident and described it as a legitimately scary moment for her on set. The experience was so terrible that Sweeney shared it during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She explained how she was supposed to be screaming in the scene but her screams became more serious due to the spider biting her. Powell was the only one who noticed that something was wrong and they had to cut the scene.

Sweeney revealed that she thought she was going to die because she believed the spider was poisonous. It was a dramatic and unexpected turn of events for a romantic comedy. However, Powell also recently shared his own near-death experience while filming the movie. He almost fell off a cliff while hastily ripping his clothes off for a scene. Despite the safety risks, Powell mentioned that it was a fun scene and worth it in the end.

“Anyone But You” is set to hit theaters today, December 22nd. The film has already gained attention due to the spider incident and Powell’s near-death experience. Fans will surely be curious to see how these real-life moments translate on screen in this romantic comedy.
