However, despite her diagnosis, Dion expressed her desire to perform again, stating that singing is what she knows and loves.
Stiff person syndrome is a rare condition that affects one to two in a million people, causing painful muscle spasms and stiffness throughout the body. Dion had already delayed a Las Vegas residency in October 2021 due to severe muscle spasms before ultimately canceling all her concert dates in 2023 and 2024. In May 2023, she also canceled her “Courage” world tour to prioritize her health.
