Whitney Port Reveals $35,000 Credit Card Debt Before Getting Engaged
Whitney Port, known for her appearances on reality TV shows like “The Hills” and “The City,” recently opened up about her financial struggles before getting engaged to her now-husband, Tim Rosenman. During an episode of Nicole Lapin’s “Money Rehab” podcast, Port confessed that she had a substantial credit card debt of $35,000 at the time of their engagement.
A Secret Debt
Port admitted that she had been aware of her mounting debt for a while but had been only paying the interest each month. She described it as a “huge secret” that she was ashamed of but knew she had to share with Rosenman. When she finally told him, he was shocked but supportive, saying, “We’ll figure it out.”
Paying Off the Debt
Fortunately, Port was able to pay off the debt quickly. However, the experience taught her a valuable lesson about money management. Despite earning money from her reality TV work, she had not learned how to save. Port acknowledged that she used to spend a lot but has since worked on changing that behavior as she has gotten older.
Overcoming Other Challenges
Rosenman and Port have faced various challenges throughout their marriage. They have dealt with fertility issues and weight struggles, which Port has been open about. Recently, they also experienced the heartbreaking loss of two miscarriages with their surrogate.
Looking Ahead
Rosenman shared that they are currently exploring the reasons behind the miscarriages and considering their options for a second child. They plan to use one of their existing embryos and simultaneously make a plan for another egg retrieval.
Whitney Port and Tim Rosenman have been married since November 2015 and welcomed their first child, Sonny, nearly two years later.
