Trump Rushed off Stage at Rally After Possible Assassination Attempt: Shots Fired

Former President Donald Trump was rushed off stage during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, after possible shots were heard. Secret Service agents swarmed around him, and there appeared to be blood on his right ear. Trump was seen mouthing “fight” and pumping his fist before being taken off stage. A spokesperson for Trump stated that he is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility, thanking law enforcement and first responders for their quick action.

The incident is being investigated as a possible assassination attempt. One bystander is confirmed dead, and another bystander may have also been killed. The shooter is dead, according to Butler County District Attorney Richard A. Goldinger.

President Biden condemned the shooting and called on Americans to do the same. He expressed that political violence or any form of violence in America is unacceptable and sickening. Biden also mentioned that he was trying to get in touch with Trump to speak with him personally.

According to officials briefed on the situation, live rounds were fired from outside the security perimeter. Dave McCormick, who was in the front row of the rally, reported hearing “seven or eight” shots fired. Panic ensued, and people dropped to the ground.

The Secret Service released a statement confirming the incident and stating that protective measures have been implemented. They assured that the former president is safe and that an active investigation is underway.

Various politicians expressed their concern and offered prayers for Trump and those at the rally. Pennsylvania Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro denounced the violence, stating that it has no place in Pennsylvania or the United States. Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio all called for prayers for Trump’s well-being.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is responding to assist the Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies in the investigation.
