Gypsy Rose Blanchard Opens Up About Pregnancy and Embracing Motherhood

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, known for her involvement in the murder of her mother after years of abuse, recently revealed that she is pregnant. In her first TV interview since the announcement, Blanchard expressed her excitement about this new chapter in her life. However, she also mentioned that the mood swings during pregnancy have been challenging for her. Despite the shocking circumstances surrounding her past, Blanchard is focused on her pregnancy and ensuring her own health for the well-being of her baby.

Blanchard spent over eight years in prison before being released on December 28, 2023. Since then, she has been embracing her freedom and making positive changes in her life. A Lifetime docuseries titled “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup” captured her journey during the six months following her release. During this time, Blanchard underwent various cosmetic surgeries, filed for divorce from Ryan Anderson, and rekindled her relationship with her former fiancé, Ken Urker. She clarified that the baby she is carrying belongs to Urker and that there was never any question about paternity.

Now, Blanchard’s main focus is on her pregnancy and ensuring a healthy future for her child. While she wishes the best for Anderson emotionally, she has not had a chance to think about anyone else as she navigates the challenges of pregnancy. Given her traumatic childhood, Blanchard acknowledges that some may question her ability to be a mother. She recognizes her imperfections but believes in learning from past mistakes and growing over time.

Blanchard’s YouTube video announcing her pregnancy revealed her desire to be the mother she never had. She wants to provide all the things she missed out on as a child to her own baby. Despite the dark events that took place in the past, Blanchard is open to discussing her life with her child when the time is right. She plans to have an honest conversation with her partner, Ken Urker, about her past and the role she played in her mother’s murder.

As Blanchard has unexpectedly become a social media personality, she is aware of the dangers and cruelty that exist online. She has made the decision not to expose her child to the media, except for personal home movies. Blanchard believes it is her responsibility to protect her child from the harsh realities of the world.

While Blanchard hasn’t yet decided on another docuseries, she remains open to the possibilities that the future holds. For now, her top priority is the well-being of her child and providing a safe and loving environment. Blanchard’s journey continues to captivate audiences, and viewers can tune into “Nightline” on July 12 to watch more of Juju Chang’s interview with Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
