Train Derails After Colliding with Semi-Truck Stuck on Texas Tracks
A shocking incident took place in Texas over the weekend when a train collided with a large semi-truck that was stuck on its tracks. The terrifying moment was captured on video by a witness and has since gone viral.

The incident occurred near Aledo, Texas, when an 18-wheeler became trapped on the tracks. Just before 10 a.m., a Union Pacific train approached and crashed into the stranded truck, according to the Texas Department of Safety as reported by local station Fox4.
The witness video shows the train sounding its whistle before colliding with the semi-truck at full speed. Upon impact, the train lifts the oversized load of the truck into the air and pushes it off to the side of the tracks, creating a cloud of dust.

The force of the collision caused significant damage, resulting in two train engines and 17 train cars derailing, according to the Texas Department of Safety. The witness video also captures the train cars flipping onto their sides off the rails one after another.
Injuries and Fuel Spill
The train conductor sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, as reported by Fox4. Additionally, the collision resulted in a spill of diesel fuel and oil. However, authorities confirmed that there was no threat to the public, and emergency responders swiftly worked to control the fuel spill. No other chemicals were released, and no hazardous materials threat was reported.
Impact on Traffic
The crash occurred at a crossing along FM 5 at Annetta Centerpoint Road. As a result, the section of FM5 near the incident was closed for most of the day to allow crews to clear the tracks and the road.
Overall, this train collision serves as a reminder of the potential dangers when vehicles become stuck on railroad tracks. It highlights the importance of adhering to safety protocols and remaining vigilant to prevent such accidents from occurring.
