Robbers Target Man’s $100,000 Watch Outside Manhattan Hotspot Carbone
A shocking incident occurred on Tuesday night outside the popular Manhattan restaurant, Carbone, where a pair of gun-toting robbers stole a man’s luxurious Patek Philippe watch worth $100,000. According to the police and sources, the victim, a 39-year-old man, was approached by the duo around 8:45 p.m. The thieves pressed a black firearm against his chest and demanded the valuable timepiece. Fearing for his safety, the victim handed over the watch as the robbers swiftly made their escape on a moped, driving north on Thomas Street.
The brazen robbery took place right outside Carbone, an upscale eatery located in Greenwich Village known for its high demand and celebrity clientele. Despite the incident happening in such a prominent area, it is still unclear whether the victim was a customer at the restaurant or simply passing by. Fortunately, the victim was unharmed during the robbery.
Carbone is notorious for its difficulty in securing a reservation, leading to the emergence of a “black market” for reservations on re-selling apps. These illicit reservations can fetch prices ranging from $150 to $450. The restaurant’s employees declined to comment on the incident, and Major Food Group, the management company of Carbone, did not respond immediately to inquiries.
Interestingly, despite the shocking nature of the crime, diners at Carbone and nearby residents appeared unfazed by the incident. One group of three men leaving the restaurant even made a light-hearted joke, saying, “That’s New York for you. As of now, there have been no arrests made in connection with the robbery.
