Pearl Jam’s Guitarist Takes a Tumble Onstage During Sold-Out Show in Vancouver

Pearl Jam’s guitarist, Mike McCready, made headlines during the band’s sold-out show in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday. As the band rocked through their setlist, McCready seemed to get lost in the music and ended up taking a fall from the stage during his solo. Despite the tumble, McCready didn’t miss a beat and continued to play his guitar from the ground. A security guard quickly rushed over to help him back onto the stage, and McCready carried on with a smile, seemingly unharmed by the incident.

Fans took to social media to commend McCready for his professionalism and dedication to the performance. One fan wrote, “A true professional,” while another added, “Didn’t miss a chord.” It’s clear that McCready’s passion for music and commitment to his craft shine through even in unexpected situations.

The fall occurred during Pearl Jam’s highly-anticipated “Dark Matter” tour, which kicked off over the weekend. The band will be taking their new record on the road for a summer tour that will see them perform in arenas all over North America. They have even lined up back-to-back concerts at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in September.

Before making their way to the United States, Pearl Jam will be taking their tour to Ireland, the UK, Germany, Spain, and Portugal. Their globe-trotting gig will wrap up in New Zealand and Australia in November. The band dropped their 12th studio album, “Dark Matter,” in April 2017, and fans can expect to hear nine songs from the album on this tour. However, they won’t leave out their classic hits like “Jeremy,” “Better Man,” and “Even Flow,” which they incorporate into their encore-heavy shows.

Pearl Jam’s dedication to their music is evident in their desire to continually put out meaningful and impactful work. Lead vocalist Eddie Vedder expressed his excitement about touring with their new record, stating, “We still care about putting something out there that is meaningful. No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.” With their energetic performances, dedication to their craft, and a mix of new and classic songs, Pearl Jam is sure to deliver an unforgettable experience for their fans on the “Dark Matter” tour.
