Massive beehive discovered in toddler’s bedroom disguised as ‘Monsters’

Imagine the surprise of a North Carolina family when they discovered that the monsters their toddler was complaining about in her bedroom were not imaginary creatures, but rather a massive beehive disguised as “Monsters.” Ashley Class and her family reside in an older farmhouse in Charlotte, where they have become accustomed to dealing with various oddities. However, this particular situation surpassed their expectations.

It all started innocently enough, with the toddler mentioning monsters in her room. Class initially dismissed it as her daughter’s imagination running wild after watching the animated movie “Monsters, Inc.” However, as the days went by, the family began noticing an increasing number of bees around their property. Concerned, they hired beekeepers to locate the source of the buzzing, but their efforts proved futile.

Enter Curtis Collins, a seasoned beekeeper with six years of experience in home removals. Collins had a hunch about the bees’ location and, armed with a thermal imaging camera, set out to find the hidden hive. Sure enough, he discovered the massive hive in Class’ daughter’s bedroom.

Describing the hive as “floor to ceiling,” Collins was astounded by its size. The Class family shared a TikTok video documenting the discovery, and the hive appeared to resemble a man in the wall due to its shape. Ashley Class’s husband, Chris Class, noted that it occupied the entire wall space.

To their astonishment, tens of thousands of bees were living inside their daughter’s bedroom wall. When Collins opened up the wall, the bees swarmed around the room, leaving no time for the family to salvage any of their daughter’s belongings.

Due to honey bees being endangered animals, extermination was not an option. Instead, the Classes embarked on the lengthy process of removing the bees from their home. As a result, their daughter had to temporarily move into her sibling’s room.

Despite the inconvenience and shock of the situation, Ashley Class found a silver lining. She expressed that it was fascinating to show her three-year-old daughter the “monsters” she had been hearing about. The discovery validated her daughter’s claims and provided a unique learning experience.

This extraordinary tale serves as a reminder of the unexpected encounters that can arise in older homes, such as the Class family’s century-old farmhouse. It also highlights the importance of protecting endangered species like honey bees, even when they inconvenienced homeowners. The Classes now have an incredible story to share, one that will surely be remembered for years to come.

In the end, this bee-lievable story demonstrates that sometimes, real-life monsters can take on the form of buzzing insects hiding in plain sight.
