Armed Suspect Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting in League City, Texas

LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KTRK) — An armed suspect has been confirmed dead after an officer-involved shooting outside a Walmart parking lot on Saturday, according to the League City Police Department.

Stolen Vehicle Hit

League City police received a notification through a Flock camera system at around 3:14 p.m. regarding a stolen vehicle. At approximately 3:32 p.m., police discovered an unoccupied vehicle in a parking lot.

Suspect Detained and Shot

Officials located the male suspect at around 4 p.m. and attempted to detain him. The suspect brandished a handgun, leading the officials to shoot him at least once in the chest.

Suspect Pronounced Dead

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

No Injuries to Officers

No officers were injured during the incident.

No Other Injuries Reported

Although other cars were believed to have been struck at the scene, no other injuries were reported.

Officers on Paid Administration Leave

As per LCPD policy, the officers involved in the shooting will be placed on paid administration leave pending investigation.
